I think this is the smartest thing RCA has ever done, they did not promote MOAM and did not give permission for alot of radio markets for MOAM to be play. This was per several DJ's in different markets constantly called requesting MOAM and CA as an artist. This was second hand knowledge but I believe this was accurate.

A friend of mine was at that Hawaiian Gala and sat beside Hollman (or whatever her name is) at dinner. She said when it came time for pictures, Hollman caused a scene by insisting she was part of the family and should be on the front row along with Clay. Jerome quietly told her she would be in the back with the others. She said Clay tried to ignore the whole thing. She said she never saw Jerome "manhandle" the lady (I use that term lightly).

I think Clay does care what people think of him. If he responded to every thing thrown at him the last three years, he would have no time for work. But, this is about his Mother and a good friend and even Jerome.
I think he feels he is in the business but they aren't and its not right to drag them into things. I am sure he will pick his battles, and if he gets fed up with a particular thing, he will do something about it. He has had a lot to get fed up about, but I know he is getting thre best advice from his lawyers.

oh crap 10:04 - same here. I never heard anything about - pro or con. The publishing world is a crap shoot at best. I have read enough about it to know it is like buying a lottery ticket. REALLY good writers go years and years without much success, but they believe in their craft and keep trying for that lucky break, and they need an agent and marketing rep. What was she expecting? Well, we know what she was expecting, but boo hoo, we all have disappointments. Look at the movies - even really box office hit movies get good and bad reviews. If her book was REALLY good, it would stand on its own. After reading all of that, I feel embarrassed for her.

The defining issue for me is the fact JH claims she is a life long friend of Faye's. Yet, the letter at the end of the suit clearly has her introducing herself to Faye, and reminding Faye how she might remember her.

She may very well have written a wonderful book (from her POV she has), but what she has achieved from this lawsuit is writer's suicide. Even though there were those who may have had concerns about the book (and after reading paragraph #298, I can see why), she wasn't prevented from publishing it last January. She just didn't like the sales.
If she should win and Clay is forced to display her book at his venues, does she truly believe any fan would buy it after this? I don't believe the fans can be forced to do such a thing. This story, it's timing, and Clay's response is perfect before he goes on a promo tour. He, in essence, has answered any looming questions from the media just waiting to pounce on him about tabloid rumors. Most of the important media already knows about the untrustworthiness of tabloid gossip.
But now Clay has addressed it, not specifically, but in general. His normal approach is he does NOT respond to untruths! You can't be any more specific than that.
A good interviewer could play this up in a big way. The underdog, runner-up, worked hard to be successful, and his selfless dedication to his charities, still being bullied and managing to hold his head up. "How do you do this, Clay? America wants to know."
This could generate a huge interest and sympathy factor for Clay and his new CD. Not that he needs any sympathy, but a great human interest story for America's Most Beloved Reality Star.

Good grief - all that documentation on the prior displeasure of this book by Clay and his family. It appears to me that Holleman made the choice between many year's history of friendship with her desire to make a financial gain. I hope she feels it was worth it. If I had received that much prior information on the family's displeasure about my pending book, I would have dropped it like a hot potato. A true Clay fan would never do that to him.

I'm Anon at 8:11 - you are absolutely right. And in #224 she says she discovered some negative things but didn't include them. That sounds like black mail to me, or at the least intimidation. No wonder Faye and Clay did not care for what this woman was doing.
WRU, I think the attorneys would have to move any suit of the nutzos' to a large enough venue to hold 12,000 witnesses on Clay's behalf who have screen prints, threats, webcam busts, etc. Wouldn't be too bright of a move.

Finally finished - the last part - the letter to Faye just about told it all. I am as compassionate as the next person when people have needs. I'm sorry for the sadness that touched her life. But, she had problems long before her "problem" with Clay and Faye. So, now this is Clay's fault because he has money? I smell a opportunistic lawyer taking advantage of the situation. Ya know. She didn't sell a lot of books for several reasons. Some people don't buy "unauthorized" biographies, I had no clue the damned thing was out, never knew the name of the book or the author's name. I've seen no publicity on it. That's why it's not selling well, not because some fans won't buy it. A lot of fans will grab anything if the subject is Clay and they don't care if it is "unauthorized".
oh crap 10:04 - same here. I never heard anything about - pro or con. The publishing world is a crap shoot at best. I have read enough about it to know it is like buying a lottery ticket. REALLY good writers go years and years without much success, but they believe in their craft and keep trying for that lucky break, and they need an agent and marketing rep. What was she expecting? Well, we know what she was expecting, but boo hoo, we all have disappointments. Look at the movies - even really box office hit movies get good and bad reviews. If her book was REALLY good, it would stand on its own. After reading all of that, I feel embarrassed for her.
And, most important of all? She was allowed to publish her book and Clay didn't sue her and he probably could have, or stopped it up front. They tried all those different ways of getting her to see the light, but she subbornly forged ahead. He just let it go, probably realizing she had some "issues". Then she takes it a step further and blames him for the lack of success of a first-time author in a highly competitive field. Good for Clay for "no more Mr. Nice Guy"!
Just one more comment, and then I'll stop. That has got to be the ballsyest attorney evah. Clay's attorneys are going to eat her alive.

The reason this nutcase didn't sell more books is because it is pure crap. She is not an author, she is an opportunist. All Clay has to do to win this one is to let the jury (if there is one) read this piece of tripe. They'll know why it didn't sell after 1 page.
My admiration and respect for Clay has grown ten-fold and that is saying a lot because he already is my most admired person. All the while he was battling the JP story, he had for months been battling this opportunist, and we were totally unaware of this one. I wonder how many others he has been battling behind-the-scenes. We know whatever happened with Jacob was troubling to him. We know there were things going on with album also. The defining issue for me is the fact JH claims she is a life long friend of Faye's. Yet, the letter at the end of the suit clearly has her introducing herself to Faye, and reminding Faye how she might remember her.
Cut your nose off, or shoot yourself in the foot, this woman has blown it. She may very well have written a wonderful book (from her POV she has), but what she has achieved from this lawsuit is writer's suicide. Even though there were those who may have had concerns about the book (and after reading paragraph #298, I can see why), she wasn't prevented from publishing it last January. She just didn't like the sales.
If she should win and Clay is forced to display her book at his venues, does she truly believe any fan would buy it after this? I don't believe the fans can be forced to do such a thing. So, how does she win? I think she just wants some of that $260,000 she feels entitled to from Belle Star and her band of outlaws!

A gay thing? Possibly! I just went over to PH's site and copied his intro to the new thread on this situation. I also copied one of JP's comments..well a couple of them. Then I remembered someone commenting that she is recommended "by the gay community" and I remember that her life partner is female. Now her dissertation on the lawsuit that she wrote as her "review" of her client's book. I'll be damned if I let this slide. It stinks to high heaven and I already asked someone at our private site to forward the PH and the Amazon coughcough review to Clay's attorneys.
I do not have those connections. Also there are people that were sitting with Holleman at the Hawaii event that said it didn't go down with Jerome like she said it did and I would urge those people to email the info to Clay's attorneys.
