A poster over at another Music Board says another album from Clay is coming (and I quote) "soon".... He says it'll have a very different flair from MOAM and ATDW:
You know what? Laugh all you want . The album is good. I live in Nashville and I have quite a few friends that work on Music Row. We were sitting around at Chili's a couple nights ago, and his name came up. The word on the street is. Damn, the boy can sing. There will be another album coming down the pike, and I know for a fact, it won't be covers. Now Clay's been an easy target for everyone, and I guess all I'm saying is really listen to the album when it is released even if it isn't your thing. They are saying there is a Hell of a lot of difference between this and Measure of a Man. Everybody chill. He's just a dude from NC. I forgot to add most of the ones lifting elbows at my table say they don't think he's gay. FWIW."

That with all the songs he looked at and recorded - he definitely had enough for a different album.

Clay had already said that he'd recorded enough songs for 3 CDs and then they changed it to the covers to coincide with what every other BIG NAME was doing...so I kind of figured we'd get something back to back. Maybe not quite close enough for us but "soon".
My guess is that RCA obtained rights to those songs and wanted to give them to someone who could SING and MAKE MONEY.

Btw, I lived in Nashville for 17 years. My husband was a drummer for several entertainers, and we were on the Music Row scene. We both have played sessions and know lots of musicians/songwriters there.

Who knows whether it's true? WHY do some of the anonymouses think that the original post that I borrowed from and this blog says RUMOR ALERT? It's fun to speculate and we need a couple of lighter days now and then. All the anticipation of the TV Appearances, the Release Parties and the CD itself is making us so hungry for Clay that we want to eat grapes off the wallpaper. Somehow I find that far more appetizing than a pickle.

A few things lend credence to this "rumor:"
1) Barry Manilow released his Greatest Hits of the Fifties CD in Jan. 06. His second album, Greatest Hits of the Sixties will be released the end of Oct. 06. That's two in less than a year.
2) Barry and Clay are on the same label and have the same overseer, Clive Davis. If Clive can do it for one, he could do it for another.
3 During the JNT, Clay said he had recorded enough songs to fill 4 albums! Where are those songs? RCA owns them.
4 The music industry is taking a beating in profits, we hear. If they make the majority to their money on albums, initially, why not release more albums closer together, rather than 2-3 years apart? A CD is not an automobile. Most fans would gobble up the CDs of their favorite artists no matter how often they are released. I'd love to see Clay release a new album every year. Wouldn't that be great? Look at all the new material he'd have for concerts!

Polly, I'm so with you on RCA going for the 1 2 punch with their bigger money makers to give them a little relief from their slump. Labels relied on all the garbage music for too long and now it's not selling where the big money is because it can be downloaded for pennies....and that's all most of it is worth.

this might be very true. I heard this also from an insider. They say he has enough material for a couple of cds, and that more material was coming in for him. With Clay one never knows, because he sure does love to tease us a surprise us all. They say he is the buzz in the industry right now, especially with the writers and producers everyone want to be a part of him. Our insider can only tell us so much because of her career, but she does keep us informed and knowing about her posts for over a year she is always 100 percent right.

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Former "American Idol" contestant Mikalah Gordon was "in a panic" but unharmed after being robbed at gunpoint, her mother said Thursday.
Victoria Cavaricci said robbers accosted her 18-year-old daughter and a male friend early Wednesday on a sidewalk in a neighborhood about seven miles northwest of the Las Vegas Strip.
Las Vegas police confirmed the robbery had occurred and said they were investigating.
"She's not physically harmed, but she's in a panic," Cavaricci told The Associated Press in a brief phone interview from her Las Vegas home. Cavaricci said the robbers took a cell phone and $5.
Gordon reached the finals of the 2005 "American Idol" singing competition. She graduated from a Las Vegas high school and now lives in Los Angeles.
Cavaricci said her daughter was unable to talk with a reporter early Thursday.
I'm glad that Clay fans understand they need to actually buy the CD - and not just download it.
And most know they need to buy it at specific outlets for sales to count. And most will buy at least one CD the first week.
CD sales are how the record company makes money. Concerts and merchandise is how the performer makes money. So both count.
I chose not to pre-order from Amazon - but will be at Target on sep 19.

I don't know that this is the perfect album to take around the world. I think the very versatile Clay that can sing love songs, rock, soul and all other genres would blow the minds of those outside the States and Canada. Songs from this album would certainly be a great way to put them in the category of classics. There are some on ATDW that are too good to lose. I'm so glad to have WISYS make a comeback. I loved it then and I love it now.
Does anyone serious think that UNICEF would appoint Clay an Ambassador IF Clay were that promiscuous? Lincoln said it best, "You can fool some the people some of the time, all the people some of the time, but you can't fool all the people all of the time."

I don't know, is it just me? Or, does it seem to anyone else that whenever JP goes off on tangents like the fans (current blog today 8/27), he dilutes his own story even further? If I were in his shoes, AND I had a true story, I would be turning myself inside out to make others understand, sticking closely to the relevant issues. I can only continue to conclude that his story is false when he continues with so many side-line stories. I would think anyone just now tuning in would come to the same conclusion rather quickly.
I believed it was a farce from the start, then a few things made me gasp for a moment; I read more and then it was apparent that he was a nutcase. He is still proving that one point - he is a nutcase.

Army service
Paulus joined the Army in 1985 at age 18, eventually serving as an Airborne Ranger and Green Beret. He is a former member of Charlie "Rock" 3/75th.
Paulus was scheduled to be deployed to Korea in March 1997. In a February 2006 interview with Next Magazine, Paulus stated that because of his involvement in a romantic relationship he was unwilling to go to Korea, so he informed his commanding officer that he was gay. According to an article in the The Fayetteville Observer, Paulus talked to the press three days before informing his commander. "If plans go according to schedule, he could be discharged as early as Monday -- a week after telling his commander he's gay. Real estate career
Paulus moved to Florida for some years before eventually returning to North Carolina and becoming a real estate agent with RE/MAX. While working for RE/MAX, Paulus established a presence on the internet by posting a personal profile[1] on the gay men's site BigMuscle.com that at one time included nude photos of him, some of an overtly sexual nature.

Clay Aiken allegations
In January 2006 Paulus alleged that he had a sexual encounter with pop-star Clay Aiken. In addition, Paulus insists that he previously had a sexual encounter with another much more well known celebrity.
Paulus claims to have been first approached via the internet by Aiken who had seen Paulus' pictures on BigMuscle.com. Paulus then claims that, after communicating for some time, he and Aiken agreed to meet at a North Carolina hotel and a sexual encounter occurred between the parties. Paulus further claimed to have retained evidence to corroborate this encounter in the form of instant message transcripts and a "washcloth" stained with Aiken's DNA.[2] During a later interview with Howard Stern, Paulus described the item he kept as a "towel".
The National Enquirer, Star Magazine, and The Globe tabloid newspapers published interviews with Paulus, and other publications such as The New York Post [3] and The New York Daily News [4] reported on the story in their gossip columns. In its own investigation of the claims, the National Enquirer reported that they had Paulus sit for a polygraph examination which he allegedly passed, and also reported that they had discovered two other unnamed gay men who claimed internet-initiated encounters with Aiken that did not result in sexual acts.
On February 9, 2006 Paulus was an in-studio guest on The Howard Stern Show, where he was interviewed live regarding his sensational claims and provided graphic details of the alleged encounter that had not previously been printed. These included the claim that he and Aiken engaged in unsafe sex, and a description of generic characteristics of Aiken's genitalia. [5].
On February 10, 2006, Paulus' sister, Tina, attempted to corroborate certain elements of his claims in an interview with the Bob and the Showgram show broadcast on radio station WDCG-FM in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. During that interview, she stated that she had become estranged with her brother after she had inadvertantly shared information with the National Enquirer not previously revealed to the tabloid by him. She further admitted that her first-hand knowledge was limited to other corroborating information, and not to the sexual acts alleged. [6]
After his story became public, Paulus claims that he started getting threatening emails, calls to him at his workplace and death threats. [7] The NY Daily News in July 2006 reports Paulus' appeal for help to the FBI was denied. " "It was turned down by the U.S. attorney, and the FBI determined there are no federal statutes that have been violated," an FBI spokesman tells us. "It is a little strange." " [8]
In March 2006 The National Enquirer and Star Magazine published follow up articles to Paulus' claims that purported to include internet chat and webcam pictures Aiken allegedly sent via the internet to another man. [9]
In May 2006 the Post Chronicle online newspaper published an article questioning the truthfulness of Paulus' allegations. The article references sources that allege proof that the IMs are faked, evidence that the webcam pics have been photoshopped, and states that Aiken was known to be out of state on the date of the alleged meeting. Aiken has consistently denied he is gay. To date, Aiken and his representatives have neither acknowledged nor denied the claims in Paulus' story, and instead have relied on "no comment". Star Magazine's article did include the following response from Aiken's representative: "Clay's on a flying saucer with his alien parents, busy kidnapping monkeys. We cannot comment till he gets home to Pluto." [11]

Porn career
In 2006 Paulus signed a contract with gay porn studio Lucas Entertainment in New York City. His first appearance was in Auditions 8: Scandalous. In the movie Paulus is first interviewed by Michael Lucas and describes his version of the Clay Aiken allegations, then performs in a sex scene.
There is some speculation that the events surrounding Paulus' claims are part of a publicity campaign initiated by Paulus and Coti Collins, an illusionist who includes an Aiken impersonation as part of his act. It was alleged that they hoped to make a porn movie spoofing American Idol. [12] Collins has denied knowing Paulus. [13]

He called Clay's lawyers on January 9th looking to hear the magic words, "how much?" for his silence and/or denial to the NE. He claims they offered $200,000 and he turned it down, just wanted an apology for being treated so badly. What he really wanted was to be offered the $200,000. What he got instead was a "f*ck you!"
He called the QI on January 10 to fax over a copy of his January 2 bill as proof that he stayed there. In his demented mind, this also means that Clay met him there, which never happened.There is solid proof as to Clay's whereabouts on January 2 and tons of witnesses. Do not worry yourselves about that.
Buddy is out to smear Clay because Clay wouldn't bow to his demands nor would Clay acknowledge Buddy's existence. For Buddy, it is also a matter of pride because he refuses to let the fans think they've beaten him. And because to him, this is fun.
