Character assassination has been described as the silent murder. Destroy a person’s character, good name and reputation and you have basically killed him. Throw in defamation, maligning, libel, harassment, humiliation, embarrassment and hate that borders on a crime, and you have overkill!
Is it conceivable that John Paulus was forced, coerced or paid to manufacture a scandal? Was he fed a story, a fanfic, or porno script and paid to tell it, or did he act alone? Could the past eight months be so easily explained as nothing more than the product of a delusional fantasy from a very sick, demented and twisted mind that desired to become the “star” of a living porn script? I say no…he had help, which means there are others just like him out there, hiding behind the anonymity of a computer screen.
The sad thing about it is we may never know the answers to these questions we so earnestly seek. We may never fully understand how such a vicious hoax of this magnitude could befall one of the least deserving in the music industry...a person who has never deliberately hurt another human being in his life! Yet, it happened, and we know it did, because we witnessed it and followed it day after day…

12/16/05 (Friday - JNT2 in Nashville). As reported in the tabloids, the first IM to JP came from “valleyprettyboy,” allegedly Clay Aiken, while on tour. After a moderate uproar on the PH site over the use of the screen name, VPB, which everyone knew to be fake and had been around a long time, the name would soon change to “Revnoles” and VPB would never be mentioned again, except for the occasional “forged” profile. In fact, Revnoles would at times appear as Ray Noles, the name of a retired baseball player, Dickie Ray Noles, born in Charlotte, NC., in 1956, and still living today.
12/17/05 (Saturday-JNT2 in Atlanta) JP emailed Revnoles, who did not respond for another 4 days.
*Clay Blogged – 12/18/05 (Sunday – JNT2 in Pensacola) 09:09 PM – Re: Big G. “You should know by now you can’t believe what you read on the Internet.” – CA. The quote, initially made in regards to Big “G,” would later prove to be prophetic.
12/21/05 (Wednesday - JNT in Charlotte) Revnoles responded with a very “business-like” email, as compared to the “Hey man” of VPB. An entirely different “tone” is noticeable between the two correspondences.

12/29/05 (Thursday – JNT2 in Clearwater) Again, JP emailed Revnoles – 4 hours later Revnoles responded with another brief business-like email. JP responded.
12/30/06 (Friday - Final night of JNT2 - Clearwater) Four sources confirm that members of the cast, including Clay, were invited by Brianne Hinman to fly to NYC for New Year’s Eve. Transportation to the airport was arranged with the venue security.
01/02/06 (Monday) Revnoles IMs JP – arranged to meet at the Quality Inn & Suites in Garner, NC. Initially, according to JP, this was the first IM he saved, for if JP had saved every IM and email from the beginning, it might appear as though he were trying to set someone up! Later, he would choose to disregard that fact and substitute his own IMs or emails, which were allegedly missing from Dec. 16th. JP received at least three phone calls for which no phone records were ever produced. In the meantime, Clay stayed over Sunday night in NYC, to attend a meeting with RCA on Monday to plan the schedule for the coming year, which would begin after his short vacation/nap.
01/03/06 (Tuesday) – Early AM – Clay left NYC late Monday night and returned home on a red-eye flight in the early morning hours of Tuesday 01/03/06. (See Jan. 25th)
01/04/06 (Wednesday) Raleigh - Clay lunched at a local restaurant and autographed the wall. (Photo)
01/09/06 (Monday) – Allegedly JP contacted Clay’s attorneys and said a half hour later he was contacted by Kristi Gamble, who supposedly sent a C & D letter to NE, which they deny ever receiving.
01/10/06 (Tuesday) – JP IMs Revnoles to inform him he had contacted the media. If true, why didn’t Clay’s attorneys inform him of such an alleged phone call received the previous day?
01/11/06 (Wednesday) – JP IMs Revnoles.
01/12/06 (Thursday) – New York City - Based on a frantic phone call from Randylandd, alleging to have received an email from “Revnoles,” Rocco from the blog: “I Probably Hate You,” while high on a coke binge, sent out 96 text messages claiming to have proof that Clay is gay. Who were the most likely recipients of Rocco’s text messages?
01/12/06 (Thursday) – Bodybuilders.com - Profile for “Revnoles” with an erroneous birth date, no doubt meant to deflect attention, was established. All activity on the profile ceased on 01/15/06. (Did JP and/or his accomplice[s] establish this profile for the purpose of creating emails under the name of “Revnoles?”)
01/16/06 (Monday) The story leaked on-line by the NE to BM, appeared in the NY Post: Page Six, Billy Masters (Filth2go) and Perez Hilton’s blogs. It would be an additional six weeks before JP fully disclosed the “details” of his fanfic and produced his “evidence,” all of which he fabricated and sharpened to conform to recent and current history he picked up along the way.

From the beginning he acknowledged it privately to his fans (the only ones who needed to know at the time), and would continue to do so while in a public “No Comment” mode. Scripture verse - “Do not fear the reproach of others, and do not be dismayed when they revile you.” Isaiah 51:7 [It’s important to note that Clay did not have to acknowledge any vilification in the form of “reproach” or “revilement.” It was a deliberate decision he made to address the issue head on. He did not spend hours with his attorneys working on talking points and damage control.]
01/17/06 (Tuesday) – 05:12 PM – Revnoles IMs JP-Re: New York Post article. The two IMs for the 17th are the only IMs submitted by JP that were given a time, a fact obviously designed to coincide with Clay’s early morning blog to his fans, but also a blog that JP failed to post.
01/17/06 (Tuesday) – Reality News Online - Logan Martin interviewed Nigel Lythgoe, producer of Fox TV’s American Idol, who stated: “If you knew…that Clay Aiken was so far ahead every week, it would be a waste of time watching. You wouldn’t vote for anybody else…you would think…no one else is going to win…He was that far ahead, is what I’m trying to say.”
01/20/06 (Friday) – QueerDay blog - A reader, identified only as “John,” posted and refused to confirm or deny the contents of the story, but objected to some of the “errors” reported in the QD blog.
01/23/06 (Monday) – QueerDay blog published a letter received from a “John Paulus,” in which John identified himself as the ex-Green Beret in the tabloid story, to which QD referred to JP as a “scumbag opportunist.”

In reference to JP and others, he said, “As a so-called ‘celebrity’ I have become used to scurrilous (vulgar) allegations and untruths (lies) being made about me and my work. I have always taken the path of not reacting to these matters and have accepted them as, somehow, coming with the ‘job.’
The difference between the two situations are this: “However, I cannot, and will not, stand by when these attacks are made on my family.”

In conclusion: It’s difficult to imagine that there are human beings like John Paulus in the world. It’s even harder to imagine that there are haters in the world, who for lack of anything better to do, would follow, defame and malign someone they claim they can’t stand. Yet, mankind has coexisted with these types since the beginning of time. Hate is what caused Cain to murder his twin brother, Abel. Hate is what crucified Jesus Christ. Hate is what motivated the Nazis to murder six million Jews. Hate is what killed three thousand people on 09-11-2001.
Something Insane Bastard said gave true insight into this situation. He said, “...ya know, there’s more of that same pattern of hatred they have for people that are true loyal friends, notice that?” Yes, I have noticed that, IB. It manifested itself in the form of an attack directed against Clay’s fan base in an attempt to destroy our support, our bond, and our concern for one another, in the evil hope of destroying the man whom we have all come to love. We’re all vastly different, yet, one in the same because of that man…that man and his voice. May it be heard around the world!
For those who bit the bullet, handled the flack and the insults and took “I have your back” literally, you fought for what you believed in, for whom we believed in, and fought for someone who was unable to fight for himself, because of legalities. I believe when it’s all said and done, we will be victorious…we already are!

Watching the coverage of John Karr (JonBenet) on TV and learning that he truly believes his story I'm struck by the similarities to John Paulus and how he insists he is story is the truth.
John Karr was described as being "narcissistic" - a definition that appears to fit both men.

I think you are right about there being more than one person instigating this at the beginning, but now I think there is just one lonely, pathetic little player left, along with a few little hangers-on, who have become obsessed with the game and do not know when to stop. The goal was to destroy Clay's fan base. All those middle-aged women were going to be shocked and outraged and leave the fandom immediately never to return. It didn't happen. Will NEVER HAPPEN. I love Clay Aiken. Nothing and noone will ever change that.

I have been thinking again about this time line presented for everyone in black and white. It is a labor of love.
In the beginning, JP also had a lot of people believing him, more than likely, wanting to believe him. I don't recall many REALLY coming to bat for him in this manner. They just blindly say, "I believe John". I can only conclude that, behind the scenes, many of them have tried to find compelling evidence to support him, but came up empty handed.
They continue the charade spouting untruths, for no other reason than to egg JP on. People like that also like plane crashes.
First of all, in no way would Michael Lucas have been able to do a reenactment of JP's fantasy tryst. Clay owns all rights to his name. Such a reenactment would never have seen the light of day and Lucas knows it. He isn't stupid.
JP was offered $50,000? Surely, he jests. Does he honestly think even Lucas finds his bending over and grabbing his ankles to get plugged worth that much? Has he ever looked in a mirror?

However, you forgot to include the fact that after JP didn't get what he wanted from Clay's lawyers on 1/9 (probably a payoff), he called the Quality Inn on 1/10 to get a copy of the receipt for his stay the night of 1/2. He needed "proof" for his upcoming tabloid story. The scam was now on.

It is suspected that a few hags from a certain board are also in on this because it's how they get their own perverse satisfaction. They've been planting rumors on the gossip blogs for several years now. Wishing won't make it so.
Like ticked, I too have been noticing some of the John Karr/John Paulus simiilarities. Just look into either of their faces and you you will see the same disquieting emptiness in their eyes.

On purpose I did not give a play by play of Butty's every blog or "others". I didn't record anything about the erroneous FTC complaint. I also didn't reveal the identity of the "insider" who spoke to TC regarding Jan. 2nd. Many of US know who she is, since she posted the info on the boards and the OFC at the time and took a beating for it, I might add. Since I know her, I spoke with her privately. She is my source for that comment.
I also forgot Makayla's book, "Our Friend, Makayla" from May 22, that will be the BAF's first publication and offered only through the BAF. Their goal is to have it in 50,000 schools...every elementary school in the country.
I also left out Clay's blog comment during the Middlesex school visit about the "dude in the picture that needed a shave." I couldn't be certain whether he was speaking about himself or the Revnoles webcam!! Ha!
The point of the Timeline was to show Clay was NEVER hiding. His life and career continued as normally as anyone who was involved in a six month process to record a new album, flying around the world, and who wanted to surprise his fans and the world with his "new look" on May 24th!
I feel his behavior and reaction around the Jan. 16th time frame is very telling. Remember, that was before the NE and the Globe stories were even out. If there had been any truth to Butty's story, Clay would have handled the situation entirely differently, IMO. The fact that he had an immediate reaction and response, proves he had nothing to hide. For if the rumor were true, how would he know what evidence (photos, videos, evidence of a typical set-up, etc.) that Butty had to prove his scurrilous allegations. That thought never had a chance to register with Clay. He faced it head on because he had nothing to hide.
And if it was a lie? Tell me, did that face and that beaming smile you all saw on the AI 5 finale look like someone with a guilty conscience? Compare it to Butty, where you have never seen a picture of him smiling.
The media acclaims and accolades were added to prove that for the most part mainstream media were not taking anything Butty and the tabloids were saying seriously. Life for Clay Aiken went on...
When Clay blogged "Thank You" at midnight on Jan. 23 EST (9 PST) the Circle Your Wagons thread on the OFC was already over 100 pages with 1500 messages posted. That's not counting the threads started that night on all the other boards.
That thread is still going and now has 349 pages with over 5200 messages of support.
Yes, he heard us and those two simple words spoke volumes.

Your timeline was just perfect because it hit the relevant times. And, you are correct about the January 16th timeframe. All these months, the haters have been saying he didn't respond, when he did. Clay posted the perfect blogs. JP kept mum about that. That also spoke volumes to me.
I have observed Polly battling relentlessly on PH and everywhere anyone would listen. I know she knows her stuff.
There were times when I would back away and not read that crap. Whenever I returned, there was Polly still battling in the trenches, and often times it seemed she was alone.

You know what, Truth Rules, I do, too. I wake up every morning praying for just that very same thing. There are those who say it will never happen. But, there is more to all of this than just this battle for Clay. There are very good people who will never run for public office because of the smear campaigns on them and their families. And, there are mega talents like Clay who will think twice about sharing their talents with the world. We will be denied much if something on a grand scale isn't done. For 8 months I have been exposed to a world that I knew was out there, but this made it more "personal". Hollywood or the entertainment and the political worlds are most affected by these smear campaigns. They are also powerful and it's about time they step up with all their money and influence and get this under control. They would have strength in numbers and money to at least make people like JP and BM think it over before they exercised their rights to free speech and slander.

12:03 - Yes. The answer was "Clay" copied and pasted from another email and didn't bother to correct the error. At the time I asked, "You mean he went to all the trouble to copy and paste an email but couldn't back space and change a "6" to a "7"? The answer was who knows why he did the things he did.
I had a similar question regarding the alleged profile for VPB posted during the same time as the message you posted. In part, it says:

As you can see, in the profile the person is claiming to be 23 and 5'8" tall. Remember, this profile was allegedly created by Clay while he was in Portland on Nov. 3rd, during the JNT and it was suggested that the conflicting info was to "throw people off." Butty had no response when this was challenged with the fact that VPB was mentioned at PH during the Reichen controversy in August, 05, which meant he had a profile as VPB before Nov. 3.
What's amazing is reading the "casualness" in the tone of the conversation on the night of Dec. 16th, prior to a performance, along with the ONLY two emails Revnoles sent on the 21st and the 29th, which sound almost business-like in comparison.
And as far as the use of the small "i" used, really proves nothing, since Clay's linear notes in MOAM are written that way. Check it out. Obviously someone believed that was Clay's style of writing.

When Butty first began his story we questioned him on the VPB s/n, saying that since everyone knew that was allegedly Clay, Clay would not still be using such an obvious s/n. It's interesting that last Aug. the idea of a webcam was in the works, yet John never asked Revnoles for a webcam, even after it was offered to him.
Maybe Revnoles IMed him from Pluto and he was being beamed down from the space ship at RDU. He was at his mom's Earth home and they were taking the next batch of monkeys to where they needed to be and since Clay figured a way to travel at the speed of light it would only have been a matter of a couple of seconds to get all the monkeys taken care of so he could meet up with JP.... and, since Clay has obviously been Cloned while on Pluto, he could also be in NYC.
The original Ims didn't say coming from the airport. How many times has the story changed? Buddy is a moron.

You were in Dunn, his profile said he was in Portland, but tells you he’s from Raleigh. At the time, if you doubted the credibility of this guy, why didn’t you question that discrepancy and why didn’t he give you the same "location" explanation as he did others?
Also, he tells you he has a web cam now. Yet, when he asks you what he can do to prove who he is, you didn’t suggest he send a web cam. Why not?
I asked that you post a very important piece of evidence: Clay’s Manhunt profile in it’s entirety. The date Clay became a member is crucial in backing up your claim that he joined on Nov. 3, while in Portland. Yet, conveniently, you suddenly are no longer a member of Manhunt, when just a week ago you were able to paste VPB's profile in your blog. Surely, with all your connections in the gay community, someone you know is a member and should be able to get this info for you. Heck, I’d bet you could even make a phony profile and post it yourself. If not, this will be added to the mounting list of questions that you still refuse to answer; i.e., the phone bill for Dec. and Jan.; the medical records proving treatment after your encounter with Vasquez who "made you bleed;" whether or not Revnoles is cut or uncut; why you would send Revnoles a "thank you" email after he used and degraded you; why after ignoring all your attempts at contact would he suddenly speak to you on Jan. 10th; why he continued to say he would pray for you and why he would say he was sorry you got "dragged" into this? "Dragging" implies against someone's will. You brought this on yourself or someone else started this mess and that’s how you got "dragged" into it. Instead he challenges probably the most massive and most collectively intelligent fanbase and now he's bust on all fronts...or is that backs?. Then he can't get it up for his big break in porn and is dropped on his 2 inch floppy by ML.
To add one more insult into the mix a lawsuit shows up with demands that are just plain crazy and the attorney is gay. She drops an innuendo in the same fashion we've seen 100 times before. What are the chances?
There's a part of John's IM dialogue that has always confused me. The part where Revnoles says

I think the K-Mart thing is a hoax. There are very few K-Marts left anywhere and the ones left are not very nice. I wish everyone had a suspicious mind about these things.
We've had a few concerned commenters who wanted to post about a My Space leak from a young girl that K-Mart will have an exclusive to the CD with Bonus Track. I'm not going to lose it over this because time will tell and it's already being checked out with whatever K-Marts still exist.
I should correct my statement to include the time before January 2nd, too. They were busy before then setting up their grand scheme. How do I further know that? Pickle keeps referring to it being 9 months. I double checked. I counted on my fingers - 8 months on 9/2/06.

Pickle's blog today is very down in viewing pleasure. I think people truly have lost interest, and know that he is dead in the water.
You know, I had forgotten about the rumored phone calls between Clay and Reichen and how coy Reichen was whenever he was asked about them. It wasn't Clay on the phone with Reichen, it was Lance Bass, the "spiky-haired popstar." Reichen was trying to protect Lance. Additionally, Reichen was filming a movie at the time and having his name linked with Clay's would provide lots of free publicity. When the movie aired, the director thanked Clay in the credits. Then Reichen denied he knew Clay as did his mother on his blog, and she said it was all a publicity stunt. How nice.
PaulASS saw how Reichen, who's backstory is similar to his own, was parlaying it and his AR win into an acting career and was considered somewhat of a celebrity, if only for 15 minutes. PaulASS wanted a taste of that and even latched onto Reichen's idea of writing a book about gays in the military. PaulASS had nude photos of himself on gay porn websites that also had as members certain gay tabloid bloggers with an axe to grind. He would be an easy recruit, someone desperate for fame, celebrity, notoriety (it's all the same to him) and a chance at a porn career. What was there to lose? Nothing except a job with ReMax selling lower-end properties in a rural area south of Raleigh. Not very lucrative and certainly not as exciting as what he hoped to experience as a pseudo-celebrity. Since Clay was moving back to Raleigh and was rumored to be gay by those same gay bloggers, it would be the perfect set-up. They finally found someone willing to allow his face and name to be attached to the scam for credibility. The added plus was that PaulASS was broke, had no assets and lousy credit, so he wasn't worth suing. BM acknowledged that Clay wouldn't sue and he was right, because it would cost too much and the end result would be lots of negative publicity at a time when the press should be focusing on the new CD.
I would think that as an employee (am I wrong here,or is he not an employee of American Media, as is PH?)BM would know that the NE fabricated the DNA evidence, as was admitted to by PaulASS to a writer who was contemplating a story.
The reports coming out of the Quality Inn tell a different tale than that told by PaulASS, and the valleyprettyboy designation was formally and legally traced back to one of these gay tabloid bloggers as the original source of the trolling rumors, leading one to suspect this gay blogger was doing the trolling in Clay's name for hits to his own blog and/or to set the stage for this smear campaign.

We have been spending time in the past learning about all the details of this dreadful smear campaign by the marching Pickles.
Perhaps, we need to be looking at Clay, and take a few clues from him. He has continued with his life doing things that make a difference and remaining silent with the exception of the early blogs to let us know the story was crap.
And, now we are looking forward to a beautiful CD, appearances on television and Christmas concerts. Those things are not the actions of someone who has something to hide.
It's easy for all of us to play Monday Morning Quarterback from behind our computer screens (yes, haters and lovers both). I could walk into a concert hall and none of you would know who I am. I know what you mean, Anon at 2:51. There were about 5 comments that showed up at the same time on the same subject so I tried to summarize what was going on instead of posting all the alerts on the K-Mart thing.
One of the Quality Inn stories I heard was that a Claymate works for a Hotel Chain and was dining with the person at QI that does inventory...there were NO Linens missing from the QI for Jan 2nd. The gal posted herself on one of the message boards.
Maybe I shouldn't say "dining" because it's been so long I can't remember..anyway they had occassion to discuss it and that's the one I heard. There could be plenty more info that others gathered that I didn't see.
Also heard that there was no maintenance, janitorial personnel in that area of the QI at the time JP claims to have passed one.
Anyone heard about this?

I do not believe he is employed by Am Media, but he would be compensated for any stories he brings them. PH, on the other hand, depends on his blog for support.

As near as I can find, the only place I saw it was someone breezing by pickle palace and posting it. Probably just a rumor.
We need to remember that there are people reading here all the time. If we don't want them to see something, then we should not post it. That is why sometimes I ask Oh Crap not to post something.
A poster ar the OFC emailed K-Mart and they told her they did not have an exclusive with Clay. I may call that co. tomorrow and tell the manager what that girl did. I doubt if she works there.

I think it is a good thing if Buddy has a new job. Why is he working security though? Thats strange. If he is working at that just because he needs a job, then I don't have anything to say about it. Everyone who is able to work should have a job.

Most are very low pay.

I don't believe the K-Mart thing at all. I have felt from first reading it that it was a hoax. Why would everyone working at a distribution co. be given CDs? Especially CDs of a single that they are not going to sell. The CDs were sent to radio stations. There are quite a few posters on the boards who are suspicious of this too. I think we all need to keep an eagle eye out for more of this kind of shit.
If it should turn out that I am wrong, I will be more than happy to say so. I would bet that won't happen.
My Walmart close to me needs a Metamucil person. I feel Pickle is qualified since he is so full of shit!

I exchanged posts with the PP on his blog way back when. He's a nutcase pure and simple. My husband is SF (they don't usually call themselves Green Berets because that's saying you are a hat.) He made fun of that, of course, and insinuated that my husband had "done stuff" while away from home.
In one of our earliest exchanges PP was all about suing Clay for some sort of "sex crime" but he backed off when pressed and wouldn't say "rape." Not long after he was posting about suing Claymates and Jerome (if Jerome ever touched him.) blah blah blah
The thing is this - This F*CKER is just a nutjob. Nothing he says makes sense. Anyone with 2 brain cells can see that he is just like all of the other whacked out stalkers out there. If he had a uterus, he would have been telling the tabloids that he was having Clay's baby.

Johnny is not working security. That is just another lie he is spinning on his profile.
He's working but who knows how long it will last if he spends his days blogging instead of making commissions. I'm sure his team leader Matt Duncan will find out on his own that Johnny really sucks at that job too.
But at least the slime is working. We all know he made only $178.00 for Lucas and we all know that he can't pay his bills so he had to do something. His blackmail scheme didn't work out in NC like he wanted it to. So off to work johnny had to go.
I doubt it will take too long before the people in his new office realize he is scum. He'll then blame his lack of commissions on everyone but himself. ;)

The list I'm looking for would be hard to find unless someone has documented the various interviews. The one I recently listened to again was Larry King Live where he mentioned being married with 1.5 kids etc. I know there were other interviews on the radio and television with similar statements.
I'll start writing them down as I bump into them.
However, my focus is turning towards all the wonderful news and appearances. Looking at the Pickle Palace today shows me he has lost steam and interest over there.

I'm so sick of these rejects trying to screw up Clay's career. They're a bunch of mental cases with too much time on their hands. Why is it Clay's fault that they felt a special connection and wanted to get close to him? That's their problem and they need to get help.
As for the haters, don't they realize how much they hurt their own idol? If this were ever reported, their own idol would be very humiliated. These other idols actually know what's going on. That's why Clay and Ruben showed up at Kelly's concert in Raleigh together. To show the respective fanbases that they're all friends and that the fanbases need to respect that and stop the fan wars. It's totally juvenile.
