Clay Aiken gave us something very special when he recorded Solitaire. It was a masterpiece that should have had the chance to reach the stars and earn awards it was entitled to win but, alas, it's all about pay for play in radio world. Still, we had the recording on virtual rewind for weeks and I swore there would never be anything to match its beauty.
I lied! Yes, I did! Thanks to a dear friend who made sure I got to hear "Without You", I have been reliving the same thrill I felt (over and over and over...) when I first heard Solitaire. I'm too chicken to go to Clay's My Space (Can he come to mine?) in light of the virus earlier but I've been watching the boards..and we know how the fans like to look at numbers. I just have one thing to say:

Ok, I am really confused and have asked about this on several boards and can't get an answer, maybe one of you can answer this for me!
All I get when I go to my space is some very loud piano music and if I listen carefully I can hear some very faint singing in the background, do I have to have earphones on to listen to this? When it was downloadable someone sent me a copy and the same thing happens..I really want to hear this song..HELP

This is my first time posting here but I have read your blog for quite some time and love it. I always loved this song while growing up but today, IT TOTALLY BLEW ME AWAY. Clay just never ceases to amaze me. I am so glad that he is finally back and back with a BANG!!!
Christina is putting out a covers cd as well. There is no doubt that she will be great at what she does. CLay's voice is so beautiful, so rich and "soul grabbing." There will be no excuse for any bad reviews...unless Christina gets them too. If this is the trend, as it seems it may be, Clay will soar..he is amazing!

Let's just hope that Clear Channel, corrupt radio stations and DJs/Program Managers take the hint that people are mad as hell and not going to take it anymore. I know as part of the retaliation (though they call it fear) they were going to limit the number of songs on their playlist even further. This would mean that we'd be hearing the same 5 songs over and over every hour instead of the same 10 on commercial radio.

Considering how many times I've listened to WY, I'd say I probably listened to it with my eyes closed and totally unconscious. That voice is leads me to another place.

If you don't get Clay Aiken alerts, Mr. Ehlers compares excerpts from the JH book and Clay's book. This gal went INSIDE Faye's office with NOBODY THERE and NOBODY in the surrounding area stopped her. She had her own flat paperdoll pal that she placed in various spots throughtout Faye's PERSONAL OFFICE and proceded to take pics.
Can we say Faye Stalker, opportunist, and you just DON'T DO THAT. Matt so nailed her publicly which, I would imagine, is in answer to the unethical liberties her attorney has taken. BHAha!

I seriously doubt that CA knows he's a friend at JP's my space. He's just like JH. Projecting yourself into someone else's life when they don't know you is the same as stalking and you can bet CA didn't put himself in JP's life.
JH can sell as many books as she wants and I would imagine she is getting the full support of JP, Groucho, Tin lizzie and the Cafe. It's about their speed of comprehension.

I really appreciate all of you on this blog. I've been at a board where the posters are bemoaning WY as the first single. "Plodding" in the beginning; "background too loud" during the lower register; "won't get radio play;" too soon since Mariah sang it; not catchy enough or something you would listen to over and over, etc. I happen to love the song and I have been listening to it over and over. I guess I'm the odd man out!
As far as I know, WY is only rumored to be the first single. I haven't seen any confirmation yet.. not real confirmation, or maybe I am looking in the wrong places....well maybe I'm not looking at all because I've been busy.

I know there are some fans who have worked in or are involved in some way in the industry. But I guess I just don't like negativity. No, I am not the always cheery person. But, that voice is so unique. I will be okay if Clay wants to be a crooner. He will always rock out in concerts. I believe he is an entertainer and I don't care if he wants to do Vegas like Barry and Celine someday. At least he would be filthy rich.

While Clay appeals to people of all ages, touring is the best way for the young'uns to see him. It would NOT be a bad thing if he was to do Vegas but I don't think he wants to make it difficult for the kids to see him.
