Ticked, your opinion is always welcomed. Sending CDs to troops overseas was a way to get MOAM and MCWL in the hands of families stationed in Germany and other countries since the CDs weren't distributed internationally except in limited amounts in a few countries. When they say "the Troops", they mean families and service people who MAY want them. It's not like they are passed out like shit-on-a-shingle for breakfast.
Can you elaborate why you feel sending CDs to service members is in bad taste? I have sent Cds, coffee, care packages and plan on sending some Clay CDs including MCWL.
I will try to elaborate soon. I have been in contact with a fan who doesn't post all that often and is busy with a young family. She was in the military and explained to me how that was such a bad idea, and it made perfect sense to me since I also had a child who was in the military. Since she is waaayyy more articulate than I am, I have e-mailed her to see if she will join us here in the discussion. Or, if you want to take the discussion off the blog, we can correspond by e-mail. I am waiting to hear back from her.
If I don't hear from her fairly soon (tomorrow?), I will try to address it myself.

I probably shouldn't post this, but I am going to. I know this is the internet, and I know anyone can say pretty much anything and much has to be taken on trust. But here goes.
I happen to know people in Clay's family. I know friends of Clay. I KNOW where Clay was on the day JP claims to have had his tryst, and I'll tell you it was NOWHERE near that scumbucket. He was with other people ALL day long, all of whom are ready, willing, and able to testify in any courtroom, anywhere, anytime (not that it would ever come to that).
The only time he was alone on that day was when he went to the bathroom and, in fact (before everyone realized what a psychopathic stalker JP was) it was at first almost a joke among the friends who were with him that day, like, "jeez, Clayton -- can't even let you go to the bathroom by yourself and see what happens ..."
Clay is also NOT gay. At. All. And there are many, many friends and family anecdotes that support that. While Clay is personally very supportive of gay rights, he himself (as a regular guy) really does NOT like to be thought of as gay.
He *hates* the OC site, but realizes he can't do anything about it. Their existence on the internet, regardless of whether or not any of them have overtly helped people like PH or posted at datalounge, has helped to perpetuate and exacerbate the attacks on Clay these past two years and he knows it. He does, however, have a couple of their more prominent people on "the list." I know that for a FACT.
One in particular he calls one of his "worst stalkers." (His words.) (He said this last year before JP entered the scene.) You want to know why he was so weird on that one Kimmel appearance last year with all the presents? Valentines? That was the day he got her (an OC admin's - don't want to mention names) picture for "the list," and she was RIGHT THERE in the audience, schmoozing, and he was pissed. My understanding was that he just gave them the evil eye all night long, because not much else to do at that point.
Part of that issue for him was that he was told some of the people on OC were talking about buying the ebay auction lunch with his mom and he was furious. Yeah, they were probably kidding, but he didn't appreciate the joke.
Anyway, don't expect Clay to ever acknowledge JP by name. Ever. Anyone who knows Clay knows who and what he's all about. He's a good man. He's also human. And he's innocent of all this crap slung his way. He has nothing to fear because he's done absolutely nothing to be afraid of. He trusts in God to determine his path and, while this part may be a little rocky, I have no doubt that he will come out whole and strengthened.
This S.O.B. has to be stopped! But how?

Thanks for your remarks. I know exactly who that OC mod is who is on the "list." From what I've been told, she is responsible for a number of the rumors that get blindly posted on the tabloid blogs. This serves a twofold purpose: it gets the word out there that he is gay, because she gets off on boi/boi action and it gives her a false sense of security, thinking that by spreading rumors that he's gay, no woman would date him for fear of being called his beard. In her (warped IMO) mind, by doing this she won't lose him to another woman. She won't rationalize it this way, but IMO this is exactly what is going on.
Her reasoning is that she is doing this for his own good, that he'll be much happier when he's out and free. She also hopes (and so do her cronies) that he will finally realize who his true fans are and will reach to them for solace when his fanbase deserts him. She is IMO a very troubled woman, but apparently refuses to admit it to herself and instead projects her troubles onto Clay. This way she can psychoanalyze him instead of seeking therapy herself. Cheaper, easier and a lot less painful.

There was a story about her from 2003 that she went to gay bars in Charlotte/Raleigh, asking men if Clay ever visited the bois at the club. She went to Clay's church in Raleigh and admitted it. Yes and no. Every site gets hits when you click onto it or hit refresh. Butty no longer has advertising. I think it has to do with making money by using Clay's name. I could be wrong, because PH has advertising. But Butty said the advertising was slowing his blog down so he eliminated it. Believe that? I don't.

Well, Crew, the game of stifle the pickle was so people wouldn't go to his blog and "fuel the fire" from this end but that didn't work well. But to say it would have stopped him would be naive. I was listening to Larry King Live while fixing dinner. They were talking about John Mark Karr and the forensic psychologist was talking about people like JMK having pain within themselves that they cannot deal with and transfer that pain. I wonder if part of JP's foul mood today is because on national television John Mark Karr gives a face to people like him who confess to things that did not happen.
