There has been a big game going now for 10 months plus. The Pickle is just the latest arrival and he's everybody's pawn. Emach and Soulful Ruben, DirectorSandi and the KCE and Gr8White & Random Thoughts of Cafe Allegro have been at it far longer than any Gherkin. The DIFFERENCE in these types of people and Clay's fans is that we do our best to do our best; they do their best to show everyone their worst.
Clay's fans have been fooled for a while into thinking that someone (Insane Bastard) had knowledge of Pickle and his games but it was a smoke screen devised by people who have supported him but who would do him in without a second thought. Someone has been borrowing this character's old comments from a private forum and substituting JP's name into them and then posting them on Perez Hilton's site and the blogs which sprang up in support of Clay and the TRUTH. In the last couple of days the IB comments copied and posted here by anonymous posters were twisted so badly that the red flag went up and some investigating behind the scenes took place. Funny how a lot of the responsive comments were coming from Canadian IPs. Since we know that the Cafe gals use a scrambler I can just about guess at who the main culprit was.
So now, here's our game. The above mentioned players from the Swamp, Tinfoil Village and Cootieville are no longer worthy of our time. We're taking the controls back. This is our train and you're not invited to board. You can take your lies, innuendo, and criminal acts and shove it all! You are unworthy of the air you breathe, in my opinion. As vile as I believe JP is, I still wouldn't have done what one or more of you tried to do to him. You all deserve each other and nothing else.

OhC - I understand what you're saying about IB. Although someone may have been using his s/n, they also told us some things that turned out to be true. Corey, for example.
OC, Nice blog. Sometimes, though, I get tired of us taking the high road. As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing ugly that you could say about the freak that is not deserved. Any rotten thing you could say or make up about him, they have already said about Clay, and Clay has never deserved the hate, lies and smear campaign these monsters have committed. He has done nothing to attract this kind of filth.
I'm tired too, why can't they just leave Clay and the fans alone? I just want to enjoy Clay, I love being a fan of this amazing singer.

The~ IB thing sent red flags up for me when he mentioned a Paulus relation being abused. I'm sure the haters would have loved for some Clayfan (or someone claiming to be a Clayfan) contact the authorities about this child...if he even exists. This is the stuff that journalists dream about. They'd probably make the call themselves anon if a Clay fan didn't take the bait and they could blame it on a Clayfan showing any mention of it or reaction to it on any blog or board. Shades of disgruntled fan lawsuit. Well I guess the Allegro gals have not changed their MOs.
We can console ourselves with the fact that John's 15 minutes are over! Any traces of his story only exists on his blog, where he's mananged to gain the attention of a few of the worst trolls and haters on the Internet who've found a place that allows them to be as ugly as they want to be. It's a place for them to stir up trouble, argue, swear, call people racist and homophobic names and get away with it because John allows it.
His following has diminished considerably in the last two weeks. He has nothing new to talk about. For the time being we can rest easy, and wait to see if he comes up with something else to grab the attention of his previous followers.

There is a cold, calutated effort on the part of someone to not only out to get Clay, but split his fans apart. It is called divide and conquer. The question is why and who?
When the written press started critizing this CD, Clay's voice and then smarted off things to his fans, I knew something was wrong, wrong, wrong!
We as fans, have done nothing wrong. Some of the fans may be over the top, but they are few and far between. We have done nothing to keep getting critized by almost everyone . . . for supporting Clay. It is what fans do.
I stopped going over to the swampland, after I realized he wasn't rational. In fact, his rationalizations are head-scratching, and yet he had some idiots agreeing with him.
I know he is lying.
I have often said that even if the truth was as he said, word for word, what he did and is still doing doesn't make any sense. The stalkerboy scum is just another spoke on the wheel. We need to find who is driving.
Someone is trying to make being a fan, difficult. That is the long term goal. Who and why? The real question: Why Clay Aiken?

I don't understand what they are afraid of? It makes no sense to do what the haters are doing to Clay and his fans. What has Clay done to them that they hate him so much? What is the big deal if we are Clay fans? I am not a big fan of either Kelly or Ruben but I am not going to devise and perpetrate (sp?) a scandal of the month to ruin them or their reputations. Keep, if you click on the link WRU provided there is a spot to register and it says you will need a google account. You set that up the same as you would a blogger account; just follow the easy directions. Your login and password should be different that your blooger name but once you get the login then you can still use your same screen name that you do for blogger. Confusing, I know, if you follow the directions, it's easy. If I can do it, anyone can.

HDD has projected Ruben to sell 60,000 in his first week based on one day sales.
Hope everyone knows that after Soundscan made their adjustments, Clay ended up at #32 with over 25,000 sold for week #4! And that's with no TV appearances or promotion.
Ken Barnes at USA Today Idol Chatter says that isn't bad for a covers CD. Clay's hanging in there in the Top 40!
Can't they do any better than that for Ruben? Is he getting pissy promotion as well?

Considering the fans are doing all the promotion with um, no budget and no power over radio play, I think the sales are great. I curse Clive daily and I hope his ears are ringing.
Ruben's numbers don't surprise me. With the exception of the AI anomaly there's always been more of us out there.

I think the operational word here is "rumor." This was speculation on many boards, and I never saw this from anyone claiming to be an insider, except Groucho, way back in the early Spring. It wasn't supposed to be good news then, but seeing how this whole album cycle has been handled, I would welcome it.

I heard that too...about Clay going with David Foster, and that RCA still has Clay for 6 months after the ATDW release. I hope it's true. DF truly and genuinely appreciates Clay's talent and I think it would be a great move for Clay.

I have the Amazon rankings for the last 24 hours for many of the Idols upcoming CD's. As you can see NO ONE compares to Clay. I don't think ATDW has dropped out of the top 40 since the day it was available for pre-order. Poor Ruben hasn't even cracked the top 100. It is hard to say how well Taylor will do. Some people are saying that he will sell more than 300,000 copies his release week but, I think I will be surprised it that happens.

I can tell you where I read it and a brief outline of the story. They either removed that discussion or moved it to their private thread, but it was on Openly Clay. I wish I had copy/pasted it, but I didn't.
One thing I'm sure of is it was Beachbum who said it. She had attended an AI5 concert and took her mother. If I recall right, she spoke with Roger twice, but if not, she at least spoke to him once. She had mentioned to him that she wasn't buying Clay's CD. He asked if it was because of the rumors and she responded that no it was because it was covers or some other reason besides the rumors. She asked Roger if he would be traveling with Clay on a tour. He said he always accompanies the more popular ones and that Clay was "his baby".
Unfortunately, that thread discussion was only up for a brief time and I happen to be reading about then. Unless somebody else saw it and can confirm what I've said, or someone from OC then that is my best recollection.

I always took that as sarcasm.
In~ the business world referring to something as "my baby" means a project that you are assigned to or focused on seeing to fruition. For example, Clay made some hard decisions but did what he felt was right because BAF is his baby.

She was once part of that original haters group, but I think she and Random Asshole had a falling out before Random Asswipe began her campaign to have Fran eliminated from BAF.

The fact that she has so many followers is appalling. Talk about drinking the Kool-Aid!
