John Paulus has expressed a desire to close his blogs and go on with his life. Let us take the high road and let him go in peace. With all due respect to the fans who would have wished for a better farewell we must take what we can get and move on with our lives as well. It is the wish of Clay's Equalizers that the only celebration be for the upcoming new CD and the release of Clay's first single.
I have already received news that there is some nasty posting going on at JP's blog so it appears to me that Emach and Groucho and their crews are up to their old tricks. There is nothing we can do about that other than to say... It Ain't Us!
The only comments I will put through are those of a neutral nature or a simple "Good-Bye".

Whether you believe that he is closing his blog or not, I think it would benefit all involved if everyone allows him to do so without alot of insults or negative comments. If he changes his mind later, then that will be what happens. But for now, I think it would be a good idea to let him go peacefully without having to further defend himself at this time. It would be the best way for John, and for all the fans. If John is really ending his blog as it seems he is, I would like to say thank you to him for doing so.

Where I live, we lived through a hellish summer in 1990 with the Oka crisis near Montreal and the closing of the Mercier bridge. A police officer was killed, hundreds of thousands of people were inconvenienced and had to drive miles out of their way to get to work. Innocent children and elders had stones thrown at them, in their attempt to leave the Kahnawake reserve. It was a time where the WORST in the human spirit was shown.
After 90 days of a complete impasse, it was difficult to see how this horrible time would end. How would the natives be allowed to give up their arms and save face? How would the inconvenienced residents ever forgive those who had created such a turmoil in their lives?
The good news is it finally DID end. Charges were never laid regarding the death of the police officer. The Mercier bridge reopened and folks were allowed to go back to their previous routines. Life did get back to normal.
The parallel to what has happened since January with John and his writings about Clay Aiken is that this CAN end peacefully. No one necessarily needs to forget what has been said/done by everyone involved. But everyone can agree to just LET IT END.

Anon at 8:45, there is no way of knowing for sure. He may be holding onto the name so nobody applies for it. That's what happened with my first blog. I deleted it and he grabbed the name.
He has about 10 blogs left on the site. He says he is leaving that for a couple of days. He says they have so many memories.
John - you need to let everything go.

When there is absolutely nothing left on his blog, and if we don't hear from him for a good long time, then and only then will I believe that his motives were sincere this time.

This was a time for him to say goodbye to his members and they to him. How does that concern anyone else?
As far as John leaving the blog up for a few days, his members are asking him to. So, I don't expect to see him close it right away, if at all.
Superherofan - I, too, wish to thank you for your comment. Please know that we may be "crazy" in our devotion to Clay because for many of us being a member of the Clay Nation involves so more than just Clay...it has been and is a blast, but most of the fans do know how to conduct themselves civilly, just as John's members can. You have a member on your blog who was a very dear friend of mine and the fans in my state. I say "was" because I no longer know where that friendship stands today. But 6 of us had a dinner meeting Thursday night and we all agreed if she were to walk into that restaurant that very minute, we would accept her with open arms...no questions asked. I hope she knows that.
John, I too send my best wishes to you and I thank you for the apology. My involvment in this has caused me pain from an unexpected source...my son, who was brought into this when he had no involvment at all! I once told you that if you could prove your story to me 100%, that I would be the first one to apologize to you. After that you moved on to other things, so the situation never changed for me.
I will admit there have been times when I have been angry and may have said things I shouldn't have, especially after my son was brought up, so I too apologize to you if I offended you ever!

People will always speculate why I am ending my blog just as they speculated why I started it. In both cases I presented the reasons. If they choose not to take me at my word then that is their right. Some 40 years later people are still asking who shot JFK.
Sorry folks, I took a nap and danged proud of it. All JP's blogs (that we know of) have been Comment Disabled. Perhaps his concept of closed and our concept of closed are 2 different things. We think that deleting it = closed and he probably thinks disabling but leaving it up = closed.

Today is Sunday, guys. John said he would close it in a few days, not last night. He has now given a date and time; Monday at 3pm. Let him do so without needing to defend himself anymore. I realize that every who posts here and over there feels they have a personal stake in this somehow, but the very truth is that the only two people who have a real stake in all of this are John and Clay. Since John has said he will close the blog, allow him to do so without making him feel anymore guilty for ending it, or having begun it. Allow him the ability to go on without having to be further villainized , OR made to feel he is letting his friends down. If you are "pro-Clay" allow John some dignity to go on with his life. If you are "pro-John" then support your friend's decision and let him go on with his life. Either way, let it go and be respectful to others. Treat others the way you would like them to treat you.
We all here want Clay to be able to go on and do what he does best. We know that Jesus is a true inspiration to Clay. So let's do what is right and give John the benefit of the doubt this time. I believe he will do it. If that turns out not to be the case, then we'll go from there. But for now, let's hope and expect he is being true to his word, and give him that benefit to live up to it.
There is more to everything that happened than we are all aware of, of that I am sure. In simple terms; much has happened over the past two days in various elements of this whole controversy that give me reason to believe John WILL do as he said he would and live up to his word.
All blogs except for the one remaining BAF blog are gone from JP's blog site. Comments are still being made on that blog.
A note at the top of the blog now says at 3:00 PM MONDAY, the blog will be deleted.
So now the date is Monday. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'm so sick of this crap! It is so past time that people just grow up and act like responsible adults!
Surely JP has enough sense to realize his life would be so much nicer without all this drama going on. He's making it harder on everyone, including himself, by dragging it on.

Oh crap I want you and the others to know that today I located the source of the racist and homophobic remarks. I matched the IP address with an email that I received from this person. It is and was in fact Rick Campbell.
I want to also stress that I was not affiliated in anyway with him and that I had recieved an email a while back from him requesting that I delete his address that was posted on my blog. I saved that email as I do with almost all of them and today I watched the post and they were from him.
Emach and Woodle are pretty good at pretending to be us and using the same remarks.
I appreciate that you checked it out. Perhaps you'll come to realize that we are NOT what Groucho and Emach portrayed us to be.

Thank you for at least letting us know who was behind some of the nasty remarks. I don't know much about that side of the crap that goes on, but I do know that I have never met one fan who behaves that way.
They sure as heck wouldn't be someone I would call friend. It is the "lumping us all together" that really bothered me about all of this. Surely that is something that most people can understand.

John, you have had a taste of Groucho's evil. Clay and his fans have been subjected to Clay haters for three years. We are a little battle weary, but never too tired to stand up to this kind. Emach and her "Soul Sistahs" is another group to look out for. They are sneaky and
coniving. If they spent half the time supporting Kelly (Groucho) and Ruben (Emach), they could make their idols even more successful.
Unfortunately, Groucho is too insane to let go and Emach is just too damned evil.
John, It is hard for me to address you as I have been terribly hurt by all of this. Clay's beautiful voice helped me through a tough time in my life and for that I will be eternally grateful. We should all be allowed to love Clay in our own way without being told we are crazy. I knew all along that Rick Campbell and emach and co. were behind most of the racist and homophobic remarks. The rest was just other haters jumping on the bandwagon. There is a life out there for you and for Clay and his fans. May we all find peace and happiness and leave each other alone. Totally alone.
