A couple of interesting discussions at a message board I belong to have prompted this emotional rant. To the ilk who will be offended, I don't give a flying fuck! This is a result of recent questionable behavior of certain attorneys, both in the state of NC, circumstances leading to the tragedy of Virginia Tech and the cruel acts of the gay community.
"I said it once before recently. I no longer have faith in justice and I no longer have faith in the media. This past year and a half has shown me that they manipulate each other for personal gain with no conscience and with little or no compassion for the lives that are ruined in their path.
Forgive me but I am beside myself after staying up all night watching the tragedy of Virginia Tech unfold. A delusional little boy with fantasies about a former girlfriend..IF she was EVER his girlfriend... has unleashed his anger over something he couldn't have and it has scared the beJesus out of me. I want Stalker Boy arrested or institutionalized as well as those who have promoted him, cheered him on, perpetuated his lies, provoked him to keep going, assisted him in spreading the lies, photoshopped for tabloids, etc. These people are deluded if they do NOT see THEMSELVES as similar tragic figures.
I grieve for the parents, family and friends of the slain but the tragedy is that they and the students who survived now and forever face a lifetime of nightmares as a result of someone's delusion." Adding to this, I grieve for the families of those teachers who used their bodies against the doors to block the killer's entry into a classroom for as long as their bodies could hold out in order to protect the students.

What would I like to see?
1. AI cancelled because they created and continue to create controversy for individual contestants for the sake of ratings.
2. The Simons and Nigel deported
3. Murdoch and Fox and all his affiliations investigated to the max
4. Tabloids (American Media Inc) shut down or sued beyond financial recovery by every celebrity who has been a victim of their malicious intent. That's what scandalous lies are in my book
5. JP, Perez, Groucho, Emach and Woodle removed from Society via jail or mental hospital for the criminally insane.
6. Gay gossip bloggers, magazines, and media personnel who make a sport of "outing" people should be ousted for their abuse of Freedom of Speech. They use this to blackmail those who are gay and use it to relentlessly hound the innocent who aren't but who have pissed them off somehow which is the case with Clay who is no more gay than I am. They are blackmailing the entire entertainment industry as well as political figures who don't give them what they want.

7. I'd like to see the fan wars stopped here and now. There is no shame in taking pride in the Idol you support but putting an entertainer and their fans down for the sake of elevating another is the most wasted effort any of us can be involved in. We have finally been given the opportunity to hear music again and I have embraced all the Idols. Of course, I have favorites and, of course, Clay is my favorite of all. How can I object to someone else appreciating a voice or a song that give them pleasure? How can I fault someone who has a favorite that isn't the same as mine when we have such varied tastes? What I find deplorable is the effort to err on the side of provoking hatred. We've all been victimized by the AI machine which is the bottom line.
Is it possible for all of us to let it go and recognize how we've all been manipulated for sales and ratings? No more tragedy of trying to ruin such beautiful spirits who give us so much joy? An Olive Branch maybe? All sides will be heard regarding this blog but I still reserve the right to edit or reject hurtful bullshit for the sake of hurting out of delight.

I second this rant!!! You have my whole hearted support for this blog and I agree with everything you have said. That citizens of this country are subjected to the relentless hounding of these so-called media radicals is criminal, even if the courts do not recognize it.

I agree with everything you said in your blog but what can be done?
The people that are doing these terrible things to Clay are as sick in the head as that boy that killed all those people.
It is so frustrating to me that these people are allowed to ruin Clay's life the way they are and nothing is being done about it. It is just so wrong that lies are spread about him and so many people believe them.
I am just so tired of it all. Clay does not deserve any of what has been done to him.
Will it ever end or is this what he has to look forward to for the rest of his career?
It sounds good, OhCrap, but I wouldn't count on them taking the high road. It is more fun to hurt us then it is to support their favorites.
It's hard for me to fathom that they are still doing this after almost 5 years. There doesn't appear to be anything that will get them to give up this vendetta, get over it and move on.

Well...I have only posted here once or twice, but read all the time. While on lunch today I read the bs article about Gays on Idols and that Jim V calling for Clay to come out and since he has been so successful...he could be a plus for the gay community....but then he said Clay may not be able to come out because of RCA holding the cards...I was shaking after reading that...and then seeing all the Gay and reality blogs etc make a mockery out of Clay's UNICEF trip added to my not so nice mood. On the CV today, I quickly read a post from one fan that said her sister believed all this BS because Clay did not sue...in fact the Medicine Chest and J P followers say that is their main reason for believing the "story"...anyway this poster made the comment that due to the AI contract, they can say anything they want about Clay and he has no recourse..does anyone know if this is true and if so...for how long..
Ok and while I am on the rant....I also read where Shelly from Z100 called out the Clay fans for spamming the poll against Kelly's new single...in fact this DJ said that WE needed to stop the hate!!!!
Well I am a secluded fan, who does not belong to any private board...but I SAW NO call to arms to trash Kelly's single.(which this DJ alluded to). Maybe she needs to read where the real HATE is..
And as long as I am on a role....I too would love the fan wars to stop. I have never participated in them....I read the Medicine chest and I cannot understand how these adults can hate so much. I teach 10 year olds Religion class...I try to teach them to love one another and not to hate on anyone....and then I pray that none of them have a parent that would spend their time writing such vile hate and lies and seek to destroy the career and reputation of someone who is just trying to live his life and help his fellow man. I just am baffled....but am just as afraid as this is something we will always have to deal with...cause there is no way they are going to stop willingly and I am afraid no one will stop them...I hoped that would happen...but it just keeps going on...

It's a sad day in history. I lived in Virginia for 10 years. My family and my brother especially know people/kids at Virginia Tech.

Yes, regarding your question about the AI contract. It's "Clause 11" of the old contracts from Season 1 but I haven't seen one in years and I'm not sure if the clause has been changed in more recent seasons.
If Clay is bound by the same version of the AI Contract then it's stated that they can shit on him "in perpetuity"..meaning forfreakingever... UNLESS it's contested in a Court of Law where I feel a judge would either void the contract or uphold the clause but reduce it to a "reasonable time" meaning 1 to 3 years. It's remotely possible that even 5 years would be allowed depending on the state you're in. As far as I'm concerned it's time served already so they need to stop and wipe their asses and we need to flush them down the drain.

Are you sure "in perpetuity" means forever in this instance? I would think it would mean for the duration of the show. I don't know how harassing someone and creating a false image for that person "forever" would stand up in a court of law. AI should only be contracted to use Clay's name and image within the context of the show, not to promote a false and completely negative image of him in order to diminish his career and earnings potential.
Utilizing the services of a modern-day extortionist like a certain hated tabloid blogger (let's face it - he's in their back pocket) and having someone recruit a middle-aged porn actor wannabe with delusions of grandeur to claim gay sex and allude to a negative image that is the total opposite of the Clay his friends and employees rave about is nothing short of a smear campaign designed to ruin his career, image and life. That is bordering on racketeering.
Clay is too valuable for Clive to just drop like he did Guarini. He has the talent and charisma to be a megastar, but he won't be caged into one of their convenient little marketing boxes and forced to sing music he doesn't want to sing. That's what's been going on the last 16 months. So Clive and CO. set out to devalue him as much as possible before dropping him. They were expecting his huge fanbase to just move on over to Daughtry, who's their pop/rock guy. Clay Nation was supposed to become Daughtry Nation one year ago. They even gave Daughtry's fan club the name Daughtry Nation in anticipation.
I agree with so much in your blog. Yes, I've had a hard time not letting this garbage make me change my support of gay rights. I believe that everyone needs to be treated equally. But I can't help but wonder why some of that community doesn't take a stand against all of this. It has set back their community image in so many ways.
As for the fan wars, I actually don't believe that fandom is behind any of the haters actions any more. Sure, that's where it started. But, as with many types of mental illness, it's what triggered this madness, not what continues to fuel it. I honestly believe that the lunatics at the medicine chest get an adrenaline rush from the imaginary power they think they wield. It's what continues to make them play a game that does nothing positive in this world; not for them, not for their 'idol', and obviously not for Clay. But they have convinced themselves that it does while the only reality is the rush they get from their actions. That, and the feeling that they are actually young again, finally with a group of tweenies listening to their every word.
It's almost like the silly telephone games that prepubescent boys play, calling random numbers to ask if the person's refrigerator is running (or some such silliness). There's no noble purpose; just the kick of thinking they got away with it. These aren't adults (other than on their birth certificates) so your thoughts of olive branches won't be even understood. It would make sense if this was really about fan wars. When it's an addiction to this feeling of 'power', it's going to take the law to stop them. Once a person is no longer operating in reality, they aren't able to pull themselves out of the mist. They need help. It's a circular problem because they are unable to see that. Scary really. And pretty sad.
The "contract" was first brought to my attention during season 3. Diana DeGarmo's uncle, an attorney, made an issue out of it.

You understand that you may reveal, and other parties may reveal, information about you that is of a personal, private, embarrassing or unfavourable nature, which information may be factual and/or fictional. You further understand that your appearance, depiction and/or portrayal in the Program may be disparaging, defamatory, embarrassing or of an otherwise unfavourable nature which may expose you to public ridicule, humiliation or condemnation. You acknowledge and agree that Producer shall have the right to (a) include any or all such information and any or all such appearances, depictions or portrayals in the Program as edited by Producer in its sole discretion, and (b) to broadcast and otherwise exploit the Program containing any or all such information and any or all such appearances, depictions or portrayals in any manner whatsoever in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, or for any other purpose, throughout the universe in perpetuity.

You also agree that you will not disclose any such information to any contestant, individual or entity including, without limitation, any members of the press. You further agree not to make disparaging remarks about the Program or any elements thereof. Now you know possibly why many of the contestants remain "silent." I never have understood why Cory Clark wasn't sued for $5,000,000 when he blabbed his Paula story all over the press. Didn't he violate the contract? Unless it was staged to generate "interest" to increase ratings in an otherwise boring season. Although Cory might have been persuaded to participate for name recognition, prior to his book and CD release. And Paula, of course, signed a 3-yr., multi-million dollar contract.
JP admitted that his story was also planned to be released during the debute of season 5. Makes you wonder, huh?
I do remember reading the contract for AI contestants that was floating around. The part about fiction or nonfiction really bothered me.
The question is - Is JP connected to the fiction?

I read that contract a long time ago and to be honest as much as I love Clay I have wondered many times what possessed him or any of the other idols to sign such a contract.
The contract plain and simple means AI can do and say anything they want about the contestants on that show...things that are not even true and there is not one thing they can do about it.
I honestly believe the "gay" image for Clay was started on that show.
Like I said it's mind boggling to think those idols would sign such a contract. There is no fame, fortune or any material thing worth someone's good name and reputation.
I think that contract has worked against Clay more than anyone else on that show because noone has taken more abuse from them than he has.
I believe if the smear campaign against Clay had not happened...if he had not been held back in so many ways by RCA and AI, I believe he would be a mega superstar today, but in my opinion they made sure that wouldn't happen.
Many people that I know and have heard others talk about are turned off Clay because they believe all the lies said about him.
It's just so sad about what has been done to him and nobody is doing a darn thing about it.
On the question of why these kids signed those contracts... I don't think they EVER in their wildest imagination thought that this clause would be exercised in the manner that it has been. Clay, while not perfect..just your average American boy nerd, had tried to live by certain standards that were comfortable for him. He was giving, he was entertaining, he was a comedian and he had a passion to do his best at living a sound life. He had his faith and lived by it. If you have lived a pretty clean life up to AI you would NEVER expect to see a scandal about you show up in the tabloids.
I think that RCA and AI are pretty darned naive at this point. It would stand to reason that if they are involved that someone is going to eventually blab to the world about their bullshit. I'd be shaking in my shoes instead of looking forward to next season's ratings and CD sales.
Reading the paper today on the VT shooter I find out that he was obsessed with hate and had written screenplays depicting the same. Teachers had previously tried to get him help. His hate was known. The obsessed anti-fans scare me. No, I don't think I am comparing apples and oranges.

After hearing about the excuses the VT killer used, it worries me more than ever. How many times in the last year have we heard the chief freak say, "It's all your fault," "Look what you made me do," "If Clay would just give me what I want I would stop." This is exactly what this VT killer said and wrote. Two of a kind, and I really hope the police are watching him and a few others like him, like Groucho, Emach, and the sickos in the medicine chest.

Anon 12:30. Isn't that amazing?! There is good in this world. I even heard Kelly's fans wanted to surprise her for her birthday by giving to one of her favorite organizations. I find that commendable and wish them success. It may or may not equal or surpass the UNICEF donations but the thing is that many will benefit from their gift and I hope Kelly is pleased and proud.
