If a murderer commits his crime, but refuses to talk to me about it, am I supposed to drop it? No. Now Claymates, don't twist this. I am not comparing Clay to a murder. :-) But the point people are trying to argue that I only reported one side without doing my legwork is not accurate. I would never have allowed Josh on air without knowing a lot more about the situation than was reported.
I really want Clay fans to talk on camera about why they love Clay and take up for him. If he won't talk to me, you're the next best thing, don't you think?

Clay's program ran as usual except for a couple of times when he had to cut out 1 song because of time constraints at the venu. People have checked the song list which was the same and the duration which was approximately the same as the rest of the tour. If some kid was supposed to sing I'm sure Clay wasn't aware of it. Here's all Varner needs to know:
"Lisa Crawford, CEO of the Greensboro Symphony, told TMZ that the children were NEVER PROMISED they could sing with Clay; "It was HIS tour and show. We were just hired to play."
Then who "invited" the children? Varner should concentrate on finding the person/persons responsible: who "booked" the kids, led them to believe they would perform, and allowed them to rehearse, without clearing it with the STAR of the show and the one paying the bills!
I think it's time the good folks of NC realized that Clay is no longer the wannabe-star of Hometown Connection, who is interested in promoting other future, wannabe-stars of AI or Hometown Connection, and deserves a little respect as a geniune, bonafide, professional celebrity; not the MC of Saturday night Amateur Hour.
It was Clay's name on the ticket; his name bringing in the revenue and his voice people paid to hear. After an 18-city tour, Clay had one final show to perform in his home state, which he came to do. Wasn't he allowed to do it HIS WAY and call the shots?
What genius thought it was appropriate to sing "Superstition" at a C'mas concert? If the kids were never promised they would sing with Clay, then why did they think they should? Or, to put it another way, why were they upset because they didn't? How did Jeff Varner find a story here? Who turned this around to make it all Clay's fault and throw a wet blanket over an otherwise successful tour?
After the education Clay acquired during the past year, can we blame him, or his team, for not being photographed ALONE with a 15 year old BOY? It smells like a set up, but then again, things smell differently to me in this rest home I'm living in.

" 7_ We received an e-mail from Community Theater asking if the 2 Triad Idol singers could perform on concert. They had performed with us in October at our education concerts. We checked with promoter and were given the green light to invite them to perform WITH the Symphony not WITH Clay Aiken.
8_ Once rehearsal began, Aiken management asked that we not perform any non-Holiday songs. We only had orchestra charts for the Triad Idols for 2 songs and they were non-Holiday.
9_ We told the 2 Triad Idol singers, we would need to cancel their songs. We still wanted to include them in the concert and we asked Aiken management if they could lead the Christmas Song sing-along. Aiken management was very gracious and said this would be fine along with the little girl singing the Hippo song. When we told the Triad idol singers, they seemed very glad to still be part of the show. Throughout the evening, they did not indicate they were unhappy.
10_ We cannot control what people do in order to gain 15 minutes of fame. We do not believe in feeding a media frenzy over nothing. "
